CHANGEOVER OF POLITICAL POWERS
CAN BE REALIZED AT ANY MOMENT

April 12,2005 00:00

The
Chairman of Helsinki committee of Armenia Avetik Ishkhanian affirms opposing to
the politician Andranik Mihranian. The politician Andranik Mihranian speaking
in the ORT TV program "Times" made original proposals on Kyrgyzian events
that it would be more profitable for Russia if Kyrgyzstan is divided between Kazakhstan
and Uzbekistan. Andranik Mihranian has expressed his opinion on CIC other revolutions;
he made anti-Ukrainian speeches during the orange revolution and speaking about
Armenia he criticized the Armenian opposition. Avetik Ishkhanian mentioned: "
He declared during the Georgian rose revolution that Armenia needed in weak Georgia.
But the matter of revolutions isn’t so important here than the attitude towards
different nations. Mihranian as a politician analyzes not the events but he expresses
his opinion hoping to be pleasant to the persons of pro-Russian way of thinking
who are majority in Russia. He doesn’t realize that persons of this way of thinking
don’t express their thoughts publicly. So these efforts are rather simple and
far from modern political analyze. And his declarations are detrimental even on
the humanitarian standpoint. What does dividing a state mean when it exists? Doesn’t
he think of the nations live there?" There is a question why do we think
of the declarations of the RF citizen? " I want to speak about detrimental
effect of his declarations from the Armenian standpoint, – Mr. Ishkhanian said.
– At any case he also speaks as an Armenian. But it isn’t his business to declare
that Armenia need in weak Georgia when he lives in Moscow. Let’s imagine that
any Kyrghizian from Russia declares that Armenia must be divided, will we mention
that he is the RF citizen?" As regards the possibility of revolution in our
country Av. Ishkhanian said: "A lot of people say that despotism rules in
our country. It has its recourses in general: oil reserves, patronage of any powerful
country or the people’s way of thinking on the ground of which it is possible
to form despotic system. There is the lack of those three resources in Armenia.
By political description a weak authoritarism is ruling in our country. It is
only declared democracy and imitation processes are being realized constantly.
And when they are collected from time to time a collapse is taking place. It may
be expressed by the way of revolution, coup or even terrorism. The Armenian authority
doesn’t have political support and those powers which has formed the coalition
hate each other more and are more intolerant to each other than to the opposition."
He also noticed that a certain part of society has some expectations even in case
of new changeover of political powers: "But when the imitation processes
are collected the expectations disappear. And even without taking into consideration
the foreign possible support, only that situation is enough for changeover of
political powers in Armenia at any time. And it is difficult to say how it will
be, by revolution, by coup. But will the situation be changed from it. I worry
that it will be in the way as it was after 1998. And then we’ll find ourselves
in the same situation as we are now. As I don’t see the power which you can trust
in that it will form a lawful state."Anna Israelian
