The
NA chairman Arthur Baghdasarian thinks of the constitutional amendments in this
way.The NA chairman Arthur Baghdasarian summarized during the press interview
yesterday the history of the Parliament of the passed two years and the passed
duration marked as satisfied or normal working. He doesn’t share the standpoint
according to which the authority is always right and the opposition is wrong:
" If some politicians from the opposition spoke positively about the NA chairman,
you mustn’t panic, people have seen, noticed and expressed their standpoint. And
I have marked the principals of those persons and the influence in connection
with those remarks. There is no need to judge further,"- the NA chairman
said answering to the compliments between him and the chairman of the city soviet
of "Republic" party Aram Sargsian. Answering to our question about Dashnaktutiun-Orinats
Erkir counteraction the NA chairman said that he doesn’t admit it can be called
as a counteraction between two coalition parties. Arthur Baghdasarian preferred
to name it as a fight between two politicians. "Both politicians were simply
criticizing each other, making it the counteraction between "Orinats Erkir"
and Dashnaktsutiun is another problem. Such a problem doesn’t exist, there is
a criticism, and there were answers. I think that we must sit and speak about
problems together trying to solve it.Answering to the question about the Elections
of Local Self-governing Arthur Baghdasarian declared that " All bribing persons
must be arrested, the responsibility towards electoral crimes must be strengthened
because any authority formed by some thousands of drams aren’t able to do anything
for the people."And Mr. Baghdasarian is ready to reform the Constitution
according to the main suggestions of the European structures but he can’t insist
on it instead of other members of the coalition and the President. "I think
that we must try to achieve the amendments suggested by the commission of Venice
and European structures in full. Unfortunately there are people that like the
authority more than the country, we must like the country because democracy is
a law for me more than an exception. I think we must go in a way of achieving
the constitutional amendments and I’m sure that the major part of those suggestions
will be reflected. I can’t answer instead of remain three sides as the authority
in Armenia has four sides, I can speak in the name of the political power which
is the second one on the NA, we are for the policy of taking the reforms up to
