The
chairman of "National Unity" party Artashes Geghamian had some meetings
in the USA after the sitting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Washington.-The
Armenian politicians try to hide their meetings after American visits, to drop
hints about some important arrangements, to pretend that just they are the US
elected representatives. Why did you infringe the established tradition?-
The politician who connects his own self-establishment with the most powerful,
developed country of democracy only proves that he still has problems of reading,
learning, taking lessons from the history. A person must feel himself strong first
for the ideas, which are heartfelt for your own nation. And leading it you will
be able to develop your country.- What meetings did you have after participating
in the OSCE PA sitting?- "National Unity" has a lot of adherents
in New York and California who when informed about my visit to the USA asked me
to organize meetings with them. A special reception was organized in Saint Vardan
Church at New York where I made a speech. The whole record of the meeting broadcasted
by two Armenian TV channels. I had the opportunity to meet the representatives
of the Armenian Congress and the Armenian students at the California University.
I was broadcasted for 8,5 hours by 4 TV programs and answered to different questions
asked by phone. As my relatives mentioned there it was an event, which didn’t
have the precedent before taking into consideration that I has been in California
for 4 days. Hundreds of thousand compatriots from Diaspora are worried about a
thing what and how to do to help Armenia to solve these dangerous development
without any victims. And it can be concluded from their questions that the Armenian
people are worth for a wiser, educated leadership the lack of which increases
the number of emigration, thousands of Armenian who are 11 km far from Armenia
are disappointed. – The American adherents of "Justice" bloc don’t
also hide in the Armenian press their disappointment towards the activities of
the opposition. Have you been asked by such questions.- I wouldn’t say that
there is a "disappointment"towards "National Unity", just
the opposite, it seems they got a new spirit. Certainly they were misinformed
as if the current authorities do their best fight with the politicians of Azerbaijani-Turkish
world and the people trust and believe in the current authorities, and more, they
sleep and wake up saying "Robert-Serge".- Did you limit the meetings
by the Armenian circles?- Certainly no. The OSCE 55 member countries are produced
by the most influential political figures of their countries in the PA. Fortunately
there is a long-standing friendship with the most influential political figures.
Especially when there was an opportunity to give them the collection of my interviews
and articles and a lot of them saw there their photos. They weren’t indifferent
towards the fate of the Armenian State system and were ready to assist all those
political powers, which understand rightly the democracy and realize that the
country can be developed by misinformation and craftiness. In this case my visit
to the USA was very useful.- It was published that the US former President
Bill Clinton spoke about your speech in the OSCE PA, considering important its
theme, that is the possible clash of civilizations.- I spoke about the problem
of that possible clash in my speech connected by not fair settlement of the NK
issue. And it was explained by that example that dozens of similar conflicts aren’t
settled then the approaches must be changed and the philosophy of the settlement
must be reviewed. And Bill Clinton declared the day before in his speech that
the meeting of former presidents of the world will be held in September and as
one of the reasons of its necessary he mentioned that the problem of possible
development of the clash of civilizations had been discussed lately in the OSCE
PA and the serious politicians of the world must solve newly that problems. Only
I spoke about the possible clash of civilizations in my speech in the OSCE PA.
So this shows that this issue has had the most serious reply in the most influential
political circles of the world. Anna Israelian
