The
NA deputy, the ARF representative of Armenian General Body Armen Rustamian advises-Mr.
Rustamian, it seems the junction of the opposition and turning to the joint boycott
has mixed the cards of the opposition up, as obviously problems of providing satisfied
numbers of the referendum participants will rise. How are the authorities going
to provide for the numbers of participants for the constitutional referendum?-
I think in the opposite way, that change of approach is profitable for the adherents
"yes" propagandists First it isn’t logical to change the strategy. It
can mean two things, that the providences weren’t right from the beginning and
the person who has that providence can’t remark the 40 days strategy. This speaks
of their weakness. Second, it can be very clear that the propaganda of "yes"
gets more adherents than the propaganda of "No" and it will be clear
during the results of voting the level of influence of both sides. I think they
try to avoid of this as they also see that the correlation will be shattering,
in favor of "yes".- As the authorities have drawn and will draw
in favor of "yes".- It isn’t so, if there is any doubt that the
referendum will be rigged anyway in favor of "yes" so it wasn’t logical
why were they propagandizing "no", for that reason I think they understand
very well that the dynamics of the growth of "yes" really exists. –
Voters are interested in some questions in the package of Constitutional amendments
and the question of double citizenship is in the first place of that list, many
of them who are against stoppage of prohibition of double citizenship accuse Dashnaktsutiun
saying that because of Dashnaktsutiun we’ll have to taste dangers of double citizenship.
– First of all that question is in another field long time ago, when the prohibition
was put in ’95 it was such a situation which divided us into two parts. This was
simply ideological serious discrepancy with the ANM, this have its serious and
deep explanations. But the situation has been changed during 10 years that not
only Dashnaktsutiun but others also have understood that the prohibition of double
citizenship wasn’t simply logical for a country, which has a lot of people abroad.
On the one hand we mustn’t ignore that internal power on another hand we must
use that in a way for putting its energy into development of the country. There
is a problem here, we don’t say that problem is easy solvable but we are sure
that problem is solvable indeed. First of all there is an international great
experience, which we can use, there are international norms, which can be profitable
for us. Removing the prohibition we say very clearly that it has included inside
it and will include a great danger for providing the unity and progress of our
country. If we follow nowadays propaganda we can notice except several political
powers, which consider it us, their principle question and it refers mainly to
the ANM other political powers are for removing the prohibition of double citizenship.
Last 10 years showed that the Diaspora has also been changed, unfortunately we
have had an emigration in the result of which Diaspora of a new quality has been
formed. We have persons who live today in foreign countries and face to that problem,
as they can’t carry out their activities in complete saving the RA citizenship.
Many of them have to refuse the RA citizenship, the situation has been changed
strictly, and it has acquired new qualities.Margaret Yesayan
