David Hakobyan, the leader of Marxist Party of Armenia, chose this title for the press conference held in “Pastark” club yesterday.
These words of “Sharmanka” song are so cordial to my character, my political activities, in particularly to this historical period”, – our general Marxist explained his selection. The point of discussion was David Hakobyan’s impressions he gained during the visit to Tavush region together with leader of “National Unity” Artashes Geghamyan. David Hakobyan is registered in the 41 polling station of this region as a parliamentary candidate, and “Artashes Mamikonovich with his party troop sponsors us, to manipulate the mandate”.
The Armenian Marxist was surprised at the good reception of the NU leader: “I had no idea that Artashes Mamikonich would be received so warmly in the province. Such a reception, it was a puzzle for me. When people were embracing, I was so lost that forgot that the same people wanted to embrace me, talk to me. I focused my attention how he was received. I didn’t envy him for that reception, I was simply astonished. There were women who were kissing his hands”. This made him insist: “That person’s political star, whatever others slander, goes to its apogee”.
This part of the Marxist’s press conference had a subtitle: How I saw Artashes Mamikonich in the political arena, with my own eyes.” A. Geghamyan was getting out of the car when it hasn’t stopped yet during that “marathon”. Being assure in NU leader’s popularity himself, David Hakobyan declared his conclusion: “Among the figures of the opposition sphere, he is the only father of opposition. I don’t say that he is the people’s father”.
He also quoted one of the Ijevan citizen teacher’s words addressed to both leaders: “If two lions, both are Sagittariuses, born in the year of pier, appear in the political arena, the political jackals and wolves must yield. That pedagogue was so impressive, of Stalin ages, a pedagogue from a very old galaxy.”
“Aravot” reminded that David Hakobyan was saying about Geghamyan not in a remote past: “Artashes Maikonish is a good man but isn’t an eagle /orel/”. The leader of Marxist Party affirmed that he has given that remark after the elections in 2003: “I thought that he should stay with Stepan Demirchyan. National interests demanded it… They must take that opportunity to come to power. The historians say that the result and not the method is important. On that occasion he didn’t behave him as an eagle. But nowadays the nation should use his mental capacities and energy. Today I say that Artashes Geghamyan must hold on of those three main posts as a necessity to serve the nation.
The correspondent of “Lragir”, who was the “Ar”-s commentator in time asked maybe Gegyamyan should hold the fourth main post , the post of defense minister: “
You know how I love you, your reports about me were excellent, you have a great service in the formation of my political figure / I should proudly note that the Marxist called the “Aravot’s” correspondent “my queen of press”- A.I/. But your question has a cynical pretext. We speak about serious things”,- D. Hakobyan complained.
He also promised that if people don’t elect him either by majority or proportional list, “if people don’t send me to the arena of parliamentarism, I’ll leave the policy forever. I’ll be so disappointed that I will leave without any regret.
