Arthur Baghdasaryan will nominate his candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections, and “Justice” Party will support him.

The sitting of the city soviet of the “Rule of Law” Party was held yesterday where Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s proposals made on November 16 were also discussed. The latter’s proposals regard to consolidation round his candidacy and improvements in the electoral code to prevent any possible falsification. “Rule of Law” Party press service has spread the following message on that occasion: “It was emphasized in the sitting that the administration of the “Rule of Law” Party has already made a corresponding decision regarding Arthur Baghdasaryan’s nomination as a presidential candidate, and that decision has already published a month before.

The city soviet also considered important the contacts among Arthur Baghdasaryan’s and other oppositionists’ headquarters, including collaboration with Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s pre-electoral headquarters addressed to the struggle against frauds, and establishment of transparent, just and fair elections.

“Rule of Law” Party’s city soviet has ordered its parliamentarian faction to make proposals during the last discussion of “Electoral Code” aiming to struggle against electoral frauds. Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s proposals to publish the ballots in abroad and use dactylogram are also included in “Rule of Law” Party’s legislative new initiative.  The Party’s city soviet considers important the expert opinion of the International structures on this occasion. For that reason the project will be sent to the CE Commission of Venice, OSCE Warsaw office of democracy and human rights”.

We should also note that “Rule of Law” Party secretary Heghine Bisharyan has been assigned as the head of pre electoral headquarters.

We should also note that “Justice” Party will support Arthur Baghdasaryan’s candidacy. The leader of “Justice” Party (not “Justice” bloc) is Arthur Baloyan. In answer to our question why the latter preferred Arthur Baghdasaryan, he said: “We have held a special action before our selection; our party members were visiting the houses of our flats with a closed box asking the people to write the name of their preferable candidate. The results showed that Arthur Baghdasaryan is the most preferable candidate. Since the latter is the most educated and the youngest, and our party is a party for young people, we preferred to support his candidacy.

The head of “Justice” Party   also said: “I would like to have ideological struggle, and people listen to the politicians’ proposals about the future instead of past. We all know the past and the present: the projects of the future should be presented to allow people to make their right elections. We should elect not the money but the person whom we will trust our future.”
