RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan said on December 22, analyzing the result of the recent activities.
A congress of Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s 17 political party supporters and about a dozen NGOs took place in the Hall of the Government sittings on December 22. And though the purpose of that congress was to “summarize the results of pre-electoral first phase and sketch the further activities”, RA First President’s supporters emphasized once more that they support Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s candidacy.
PPA leader Stepan Demirchyan said in his speech that the public and political forces should consolidate to get rid of the current regime. Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s supporters have unified ignoring all discrepancies among each other, and their goal is to establish a constitutional right, to detect the crime of “October 27”, struggle against corruption and separate business from the authority.
“Republic” Party leader Aram Sargsyan observed that Robert Kocharyan and Serge Sargsyan couple who have been refused from the beginning, make any effort to keep their authority. “We are obliged to win, in favor of NK conflict settlement, in favor of peace, in favor of “October 27” detection, in favor of establishment of democracy, and we will win”,- assured A. Sargsyan adding that all military men will vote for the commander of their victories, for Ter-Petrosyan”.
Former RA Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan also made a speech. He said that Robert Kocharyan and Serge Sargsyan shared the economy of Armenia between each other after 1998, and they are know so wealthy that the state will serve them and not they will serve if they are elected.
Levon Ter-Petrosyan also made a speech. First of all Levon Ter-Petrosyan noted that the first phase of people movement was over by the defeat of Kocharyan-Serge regime. He numbered all those administrative resources which the current regime has and aims to reproduce by its use. He also noted that the authorities have adopted the “hidden intrigue principles of struggle based on administrative, financial, repressive, criminal, information, disinformation resources. Contrary to the authorities the “The new formed national movement has adopted the strategy of open, public activities based on democracy and general principles of civil society. The social basis of the movement are the various strata of the population, in particular, the poor, villagers, medium businessmen and intellectuals, officials, in short, all those who are dissatisfied with the current regime”.
