Today the closing ceremony of the Armenian-Georgian Winter School for Students camp took place in Tsaghkadzor.
On January 27, around 80 Armenian and Georgian students, as well as PhD candidates and young scholars, participated in the winter school opened in the Tsaghkadzor Youth Center of the Youth Foundation of Armenia.
Georgian Ambassador to Armenia Georgi Tabatadze who was present at the program’s closing ceremony stated that meetings between students were very important for developing relations between the two friendly countries. The Ambassador was sorry, finding out that his children knew little about Armenia.
Georgi Tabatadze gave importance to the reforms in the field of education, informing that thanks to the finances that would be provided by the Armenian and Georgian presidents in the short-run, Armenian students would be able to study in the higher educational institutions of Georgia and Georgian students in those of Armenia.

Yerevan State University (YSU) rector Aram Simonyan noted that the university was interested in cooperating with Georgian students, “The main field of cooperation should be both short-term and long-term visits of students from both sides and the credits they will get should be recognized in both countries.”
The YSU rector informed that the International Education Center functioning in the university was to organize foreign students’ education, where one-year preparation courses, trainings for professors and scientists were organized and Diaspora Armenians were offered an opportunity to continue education, improving their knowledge of Eastern Armenian.
During the six days of the Winter School for Students, the participants gave lectures, participated in discussion, intellectual games and sports events.
During the closing ceremony students from two countries were conferred certificates by A. Simonyan.
