The office of the Minister of Nature Protection should contribute only to protecting the nature, but we have an absolutely different picture. “I will not go against my conscience and say that the Minister of Nature Protection has worked very well, therefore, he has remained in office, I cannot say why he has remained in office, but I am sorry, but I cannot assess his work as good,” Silva Adamyan, the coordinator of the Ecological Alliance, said to www.aravot.am.

In her words, the Ministry of Nature Protection has cooperated with them on some issues, but, “It doesn’t mean that the Minister of Nature Protection wants and can solve all the problems that arise. We have encountered many problems regarding mining industry, examination of the environment – their data wasn’t in line with the rules of procedure, but it should have been. The Ministry of Nature Protection took that assessment of the environment, looked at it and gave a positive assessment and only after that did the ministry give it to the NGO and there are a lot of cases like that.”
