“I said long ago that people would gradually become disappointed with the ANC and would leave it. One of those people is Davit Shahnazaryan and it doesn’t matter that he is one of the pivotal figures of the ANC,” Galust Sahakyan, the leader of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group, said during a conversation with www.aravot.am, talking about the fact that Davit Shahnazaryan, an ANC central office worker, had ceased his political activities in the Congress. Our interlocutor thinks that it is natural that weighty individuals and figures gradually leave the ANC, “When a political team suffers defeats all the time, people should gradually leave that team, that team should gradually dissolve. It is a natural road and there is no need for political excavations.” We inquired whether Mr. Sahakyan was under the impression that the ANC was at the stage of dissolution, he reasserted his idea that a team suffering one defeat after another should naturally dissolve one day.
As for what aspirations the ANC, which is in that condition, may have in the upcoming presidential election, Galust Sahakyan thinks that it may have all the aspirations that political units or politicians of certain significance have.
