As Opposed to Ter-Petrossian, Armen Rustamyan Will Announce His Candidacy at the Age of 68, if “I Am Still Alive”

December 26,2012 20:09

Armen Rustamyan, a representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Supreme Body in Armenia, is 52 years old. Taking into account that the “main factor” for Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader Levon Ter-Petrossian’s not announcing his candidacy for the presidential election was the age, www.aravot.am inquired of Armen Rustamyan whether he would announce his candidacy for president at the age of 68. Armen Rustamyan replied: “Perhaps, if I am still alive.” After saying that, Mr. Rustamyan started to laugh, “How can I know, God grant. I don’t know. Let us wait and see how long I will live.” We inquired whether he agreed that only people aged 40-60 could be active, Armen Rustamyan disagreed with the first president, “It depends on the man. I know a man who is more active at the age of 90 than many youths.”
