Forgetting “Kochari”

April 19,2014 13:49

Why the Rule of Law party has abandoned the coalition and what fate awaits this party is a topic of separate conversation. Let me just say that after the bloody events of March 1, RoL party was not the only one to enter into coalition with RPA party headed by Serzh Sargsyan, however, only Arthur Baghdasaryan deserved flagellation. And the major person responsible for “March 1” turned out to be a pretty good leader, our economy was thriving. In one case, the sins are forgotten, in the other case, they are remembered. Depending on political necessity.

But, let’s move all that aside. I want to talk about people who became ministers thanks to RoL party. When it comes to hold an office, they are RoL party members and are dancing “Kochari” in party assemblies, and are making sound partisan speeches. When it comes to keeping the chair, they immediately become non-partisans, forgetting about the mechanism that made them ministers. This applies not only to “Kochari” forgotten three ministers, but also to Aram Harutyunyan treated in the same way in a similar situation.

When it was decided that PAP party would not join the coalition, the party MP Naira Zohrabyan noted that the PAP member, who will decide to assume the post of minister, would be dismissed from the party. They will not be allowed to write a request on withdrawal, they will be punished and dismissed. To tell the truth, I see a certain logic in it. A person should have a moral responsibility for his existing or non existing (formally declared) political views.

And a question arises here as to what the party is. In theory, it should be a group of like-minded people, who, based on certain ideology, have the same ideas about the development of the country. But, in our country, it is not the case. People join the party either for being close to the government trough or for living with this hope, or for worshiping an idol, or for finding an application for their own bad-temper: evil and spleen.

And who is the minister? It is a political position that must be occupied by a politician trying to implement the Party programs based on some ideologies. You would say, and what party program should be implemented by the minister of Emergency Situations. It is a correct question. But, in this case, RA Ministry of Emergency Situations should be removed from the government structure, and its leader should not be appointed by party “quota”. Like the Police Chief or the Attorney General.

And pertaining to the parties, we should seriously think about it. Maybe we need to rename them an LLC?
