Deputy Minister of Culture was informed from the media about the attack on the Armenian church

We are informed from the Government website that the Deputy Minister of Culture, Arev Samuelyan, was in Tbilisi on July 17-19 to discuss the issues on development of cooperation in preservation of cultural heritage. Aravot.am asked the Ministry of Culture whether on hearing about the incident of attack on the famous Armenian church, the deputy minister has met with specific people, or has made any statement. The Press Department of the Ministry of Culture conveyed the Deputy Minister’s following comment to Aravot.am that she was informed about the incident from the media in Armenia, which has nothing to do with the monuments and it was an incident occurred on local matters. Recall that that on July 19, in the evening, an attack occurred on the Holy Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi. The Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church also made a statement that it was a planned attack on the church clergy, officials and the believers motivated by ethnic and religious hatred.
