“Let’s recall the Azerbaijani defense minister’s statement made a few days ago at the opening of a military unit that the time for return of our lands is growing ever closer day by day. In other words, Azerbaijan does not hide that it does not give up its destabilizing strategy. The Armenian side was unable to provide a restrained policy to Azerbaijan. Therefore, it is obvious that Azerbaijan has not given up its intention,” so responded the Founding Director of the “Armenian Institute for International and Security Affairs” Styopa Safaryan, in response to the question of Aravot.am as to what is the reason of the border tension, especially in the last two days. Mr. Safaryan said, “I think that this is a Turkish-Azerbaijani initiative ahead to April 24 to create a front for Armenia against the fight and efforts. I think that Azerbaijan itself has a request of the elder brother to direct the activities, efforts and resources of the Armenian side to a different direction. And it is done on the threshold of April 24.”
