Figurative sense

June 02,2015 11:10

Committing rape is not good, even though in a “figurative” sense. For example, when the people’s minds are raped in bad Armenian, not being able to express at least one coherent thought. That is how most of our parliamentarians are talking about; the kebab and vodka have raped their stomachs so that the digestive process is clearly seen in their faces and evidently prevents all the manifestations of thinking. Well, their elements are not to think and to speak, they “are doing nation-devoted deeds.” I do not know which is actually their nation-devoted deed, but let’s assume they are done. Then, what is the business of these people in Parliament where, in particular, to vote for or against the law, it is desirable firstly to read them, and secondly, to understand what the law is about. We do not need heroes, nation-devoted, freedom fighters and fidayees in the Parliament, we need educated and trained people there who can become a counterweight to the executive power. And as for “committing rape”, which perhaps is substituted by much stronger blasphemies, can be talked around the same kebab table, recalling your own heroic past.

Here is one of the “personages” – Arakel Movsisyan (“Shmays”), who intimidated to behead and rape the authors of some articles or the clients. This is how he backs up the Defense Minister within the range of his mental outlook, although Seyran Ohanyan definitely does not need having such “backups”. The Speaker of the National Assembly sees a “figurative meaning” in this intimidation by the Parliamentarian. Only a linguist like Galust Sahakyan can see a metaphor here. The man says, if identified (the authors or the clients), their women would be raped. Which is the figurative sense here?

The National Assembly seems to have an Ethics Committee. Earlier, good or bad, it was discussing some matters. Recently, no sound is heard from this Committee, either the parliamentarians have become more courteous or everyone has understood that the decisions by this Committee are of no significance. So to speak, they have “laid down their hands.” In the figurative sense, of course.

This metaphoric language, it seems, is becoming increasingly fashionable. For instance, Health Minister Armen Muradyan has announced that the bread enriched with folic acid is necessary to all women in reproductive age, to have healthy offspring. Very good. And why do women who are not yet at the reproductive age or have passed it need it? And what about men? Can they also become pregnant? If yes, then only in a figurative sense.
