Ruben Baloyan, the lawyer of the aggrieved side by the case of a car accident with participation of actor Vardan Petrosyan, claims that there is no decision on releasing the actor Vardan Petrosyan. “He will continue taking the punishment, he was moved from isolation cell to the nearby prison, where the perpetrators who had committed a crime by negligence take their punishment. Now, he is still in custody, false information is being spread that he was released”, said Mr. Baloyan to Aravot.am.
Note that the Kotayk district Court of First Instance made a decision, according to which Vardan Petrosyan will serve his sentence in an open regime. As Mr. Baloyan says, Vardan Petrosyan will remain in custody until a labor contract will be submitted to the head of the Penitentiary Department that he has persons under his care and ask for permission to allow him to work during the day. “Until this process is over, he will not be released. He is not freedom at the moment.” Note that in October 20, 2013, in the 32 km section of Yeghvard-Yerevan highway, two cars crashed into each other. As a result of the accident, 7 injured people were taken to the hospital, including actor Vardan Petrosyan. Later, Edgar and Edward Hakobyan brothers died. Vardan Petrosyan was arrested and a criminal case was opened. Regarding the actor’s taking the punishment in an open regime, the lawyer will comment on this later.
