Anna Vinnitskaya: “I am excited to be the part of Khachaturian Festival”

World and Armenian premieres took place in the framework of the 3rd Khachaturian International Festival concert evening. For the first time the State Youth Orchestra performed Sharakan by Anthony LaBounty, the symphony version of which was specially written for the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia. The author arrived in Yerevan to attend the world premiere of his composition. For the first time in Armenia the Youth Orchestra and the famous pianist Anna Vinnitskaya performed Piano Concerto No.3 by Bela Bartok. In the second part of the concert the Youth Orchestra performed the Piano Concerto № 2 by Dmitri Shostakovich (soloist – Anna Vinnitskaya) and “The Poem of Ecstasy” by Alexander Scriabin (conductor – Sergey Smbatyan).

It should be noted that Anna Vinnitskaya is a winner of several international competitions. She is the first prize holder of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition. As a soloist she performs with world leading orchestras, under the baton of famous conductors. She is also engaged in teaching: since 2009 Anne Vinnitskaya is a Professor of Hamburg Higher School of Music. The pianist underlined that she is very excited to be a part of Khachaturian International Festival. “I’ve heard a lot about this festival. When I looked through the booklet of the Festival, I noticed many familiar names of famous musicians. I am glad to become a part of this celebration “- shared with his impressions Vinnitskaya. Speaking about the cooperation with the Armenian State Youth Orchestra, the pianist remarked: “A great team, quick to react to the work of conductor. It is obvious that they are hard workers”.

The festival is held under the patronage of RA President Serzh Sargsyan.

This musical celebration is realized by the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (general partner VivaCell-MTS), with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture. The festival is sponsored by “Pyunik” Charitable Foundation, “Luding” Company, “Jermuk Group” and “Ani Plaza”.
