The Armenian-Swedish towel scandal will be heard at the Stockholm central court

October 14,2015 17:00

As we have already informed, the Gyumri “Shirak” football club sued the Swedish football club “AIC” for defaming the name of the club, for obvious slandering Shirak football players and for claiming towel-thieves. Note that the “Shirak” football club had appeared in an unpleasant situation prior to the second half of the Europa Qualification League in Stockholm. The “AIC” Administrator, Åke Andersson, most apparently, with an intention of putting a psychological pressure over the Armenian football players and this causing them to defeat, informed the Swedish media that the Shirak players had stolen 17 towels from the guests’ dressing room.

Seconds later, the Swedish news media was flooded by this rumor, after which, however, the same Administrator had denied his statement, saying that he is not sure whether the “Shirak” team had taken the towels. The “Shirak” football club attorney, Mark Safaryan, sued “AIC” demanding an accountability for disrepute and defaming the name of the Shirak football club. “Shirak” football club spokesperson Anna Tadevosyan reported Aravot.am that the first court hearing is scheduled for January 18, it will be heard at the central court in Stockholm.
