Today, during the next trial of Valery Permyakov at the 102nd military base in Gyumri, a new lawyer Aramazd Kiviryan was involved who is going to defend the interests of successors of the Avetisyans family: Anahit Kochtoyan, Lusine Avetisyan, Narine Poghosyan and Andranik Poghosyan.

Lawyer Kiviryan announced at the court that they are submitting a civil suit against the Russian Federation and read the text of the lawsuit. The lawyer announced that seven people are deprived of basic, indissoluble rights: the right to live, and Russia has not prevented the commitment of crimes by a soldier of the 102nd military base who is under its jurisdiction and the insurance of the life of RA citizens. He said in his speech that Russian relevant authorities, being aware of dozens of cases of Permyakov’s deserting the military unit, having the data of psychiatric ward of the military hospital that Permyakov does not meet the requirements presented for a serviceman, has mental problems, anyway, he was sent to military service in Gyumri on 24 November 2014. Moreover, being aware of his mental problems, he was given a weapon. Lawyer Kiviryan said that in the morning of January 12, 2015, only around 03.20 am, Permyakov’s desertion was detected when they were supposed to detect it earlier. The law enforcement agencies were informed late, during which Permyakov committed the crime. Russia did nothing to identify deserted Permyakov. According to the lawyer, knowing that the military unit is under the subordination of Russia, the claimants file a civil suit against Russia on demand of compensation for damages. The demand 50 thousand euros equivalent drams for the adult members of murdered Avetisyans and 100 thousand euros for the minors.

According to the lawsuit, they claim to confiscate 100 thousand euro equivalent drams from Russia for Lusine Avetisyan and 120 thousand for Anahit Koshtoyan, 125 thousand for Andranik Poghosyan, and 125 thousand for Narine Poghosyan. The lawsuit will be translated into Russian, it takes time and will last about a month. The trial was adjourned until June 30.
