Armenia will be a surprise in the region

September 12,2016 10:38

Sona Hovhannisyan, General Manager of “Yerevan Perspectives” International Music Festival, in an interview with Aravot, voiced the next sonorous names who will arrive in Armenia.

The first one of them is the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (in the photo) who has already agreed to have a concert in Armenia.  “They have stated that they are well aware of our festival.  Getting the consent of this class of group is due to the previous successes; they are not looking at what good things are in given country but who have had a concert ahead of them.  We had this experience in 2012 when inviting the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

The then First Lady of Georgia had to attend their concert in Armenia because they were unable to invite “Concertgebouw” to Tbilisi. As for the Berlin Philharmonic, one can count on fingers which cities have hosted this orchestra.  The second sonorous name, which again will be a surprise in the region, is the pianist Martha Argerich.  Incidentally, the incentive of inviting renowned classical musicians to Georgia was “Yerevan Perspectives,” – noted Mrs. Hovhannisyan.
