Weightlifter Davit Hovhannisian – European Champion Among Juniors

Armenia’s weightlifter Davit Hovhannsian captured gold at the U20 European Championship in the Israeli city of Eilat.

Hovhannisian lifted 149kg in snatch and 177kg in clean and jerk.

Overall 13 athletes were representing Armenia in the championship.

Smbat Markarian, Kevork Baghdasarian, Razmik Osetian, Karush Ghugasian and Mgrdich Mgrdchian will compete in the U23 championship.

Izabella Yaylian finished 5th.
