Due to the operative-investigative measures undertaken by the RA National Security Service A.A., Head of the Urban Development and Land Control regional department of the Yerevan Municipality, has been arrested in suspicion of bribery. Press Service of the NSS reports in a released statement.
According to the acquired preliminary evidence in the period of October-November 2016 A. A. demanded and received significant amount of money from citizens in exchange for providing documents of the completion of construction of residential areas, commercial and public facilities. The suspect received the bribes both in person and with the assistance of a third person.
The source informs that a criminal case has been launched regarding the alleged crime under the requirement of Part 3 (Point 3) of Article 311 of the RA Criminal Code (Taking large amount of bribes by a state official, personally or through a proxy, for implementation of actions within his authority, in favor of the briber or briber’s representative).
The preliminary investigation is underway.
