On January 25, in Paris Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, met Michaëlle Jean, the Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie /OIF/.
The meeting, in which the Executive Director of the International Organisation of la Francophonie and the senior officials of the Secretariat took part, was dedicated to the launch of preparatory works for the summit of La Francophonie to be held in Armenia in 2018.
Edward Nalbandian informed Michaëlle Jean that Armenia takes with great responsibility the commitment to host the summit of La Francophonie and that this issue was included in the agenda of the session of the National Security Council under the President of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of which the Head of State instructed to create an inter-agency committee for coordinating the preparatory works of the summit.
The interlocutors discussed the possible dates for holding the summit, addressed in details the numerous substantial and organizational issues of the summit.
