‘We will have peace in the future, and the ones doing anti-propaganda will feel ashamed of their deeds’

Political scientists substantiate the staying out of the “Congress-APP” alliance from the staff of the 6th convocation of the National Assembly by the propaganda of “peace, reconciliation, neighborliness” concept conducted by this alliance. For example, political scientist Sergey Minasyan has opined that RA first president Levon Ter-Petrosian has done everything via his interview for ANC not to pass. Throughout the campaign, some political scientists predicted that the slogan of this alliance would not work in favor of them.

However, Congress member and MP candidate Zoya Tadevosyan assures that it was not their propaganda which was erroneous, but the anti-propaganda which was stronger. “Almost all political scientists unanimously did not understand the core of the slogan of peace by Levon Ter-Petrosian, and altogether – How to achieve peace? Who enforces peace? And why is it necessary to settle peace? They did not exactly understand the mentioned and criticized ANC”, told Ms. Tadevosyan in the interview with Aravot.am.

According to her, political scientists, other political figures, leaders, and members of political powers did everything for people to perceive “Congress-ANC” alliance as a land-giver, and to achieve their goal: “And giving lands in the sense that it is viewed as a treachery, surely it is normal that people could perceive us as such. Who would give the vote to the traitor? From the other perspective, other political forces took an advantage from it as well, proceeded with their traditional behavior – distributed money to the people by the excuse of us being land-givers. I allude to RPA and PAP, and they took people to elections. I mentioned earlier that 2 lists had been formed – 40% of votes to RPA, 40% to “Tsarukyan” alliance and 20% to the others, which actually took place.” Tadevosyan assures: “At least 60% of the voters of the mentioned political forces have certainly taken money.”

ANC representative told there were multifold witnesses and video records proving that the people going to elections were the ones who did not have a clue of where they had gone to and how the voting was done: “In our country disabled people, it is impossible to see that huge number of people with mental issues in one day. Every possible person, just to be able to move was taken to the polling station. Roughly speaking, every single moving thing went and voted.” Was there not Congress’s fault? A number of citizens state they have no alternative, they say the opposition is not an opposition. In reply to the aforementioned question Ms. Tadevosyan says: “I do not know why ANC is blamed for when they say so.  Our propaganda was national, patriotic, we have utilized all possible means of a campaign, were way too honest, and political forces manifesting fair intentions with honesty were too few. We played no one’s game, though we were blamed for partnership with Serzh Sargsyan. Anti-propaganda was so much that one could not blame the fair elector, inasmuch as when they saw the accusation on TV they said – they told by TV.

Unfortunately, our people still believes in such propaganda, soviet times are not in the past yet, about which Solzhenitsyn had said: “Merely one day was needed and TV and radio, a newspaper wrote a lie, which became a truth in people’s perception the next day.” That propaganda does so that people believe whatever they hear or read, unfortunately.” Ms. Tadevosyan told that anti-propaganda has worked against their power so that when they went to meet with electors, the majority did not even go out of their house to hear explanations on the issues of their concern: “During the campaigns people were afraid to even partake in opposition rallies, did not even open the windows to hear us. You understand? In this atmosphere where the fear of losing one’s job or persecution chases people, one has become a coward. I do not understand how democracy and cowardice can be combined with each other, it is impossible. Here the opposition cannot do anything, the opposition does not have counteraction mechanism.”

Pursuant to Ms. Tadevosyan’s viewpoint Congress could have been blamed for failure if they did not do anything, but if – according to Tadevosyan – actually fair or the part of the society inclined to changes in the country stood by the opposition, which was not done, perhaps Congress would have other results: “Unfortunately, we are more blamed than supported. The ones who do not help us complain the most. This is a wrong approach.” “Congress-ANC” has received 25.975 votes. Did Congress expect more? To this question, Ms. Tadevosyan answered: “Honestly speaking I expected a victory, I say it too honestly, forasmuch as I do not have relations with the mass which expects money, I don’t know, or TV campaign under the influence of which I should have changed political views. I had made a picture based on the approach of those people who I have a daily communication with. With those people who had perceived the concept of our propaganda. But 25.000 is not a little number either. If these many people are conscious that peace is our salvation, this brings forth serious expectations forasmuch as we will have peace in the future, and the ones doing anti-propaganda will feel ashamed of their deeds eventually.”
