Galust Sahakyan about his son and PM: ‘I am very close with the prime minister’

May 14,2017 15:06

A deputy of the NA of the Republic of Armenia Galust Sahakyan answered to the questions of the press after, as he has said, voting for the capital of all the Armenians.

-You took the NA mandate. Is there a possibility that you’ll be the president of NA, considering that you had some problems with your health while working at the previous parliament?

– I thought you were going to ask about today. Anyways, we haven’t discussed those questions. We will do that on May 16 or 17.

-Your son Arman Sahakyan presented a withdrawal. They say it is forbidden for NA to have two members of the same family.

-My son and I have been deputies and worked really well. It’s just that he wants to work at the executive more. He said he could work at both places, but to go to the executive branch is a possible approach for him.

-Is it true that the prime minister did not like that? It was even written about.

– They were just rumors. I have two sons and no one can put them in unpleasant conversations because they are both honest and kind. There are not such problems; moreover, I’m very close with the prime minister.

-Talking about the elections of the Yerevan City Council, it’s been two days that everyone is talking about the Republican Party listings and bribe giveaways: Nikol Pashinyan published those lists. What do you think about it?

-I think years will pass and all of that will seem funny. This time we managed to start such electoral activities of the NA and the Yerevan City Council, that there will be absolutely no violation of the law. The opposition and all the observers of the world also think so. The rest is the result of the activities of the oppositional front, with which they prove that they are a part of the elections.
