During the session of Parliament “Yelq” member Aram Sargsyan asked presidential candidate of The Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Khosrov Harutyunyan about The EEU (The Eurasian Economic Union). First of all, he said that in 2016 neighboring Georgia was visited by 6 million 500 000 tourists, 1 mln of which Armenians. And Armenia was visited by 1 million 600 000 tourists.
“Don’t you think that becoming the EEA member you condemn The RA the recurrence of such picture in the next five years”, asked Aram Sargsyan.
Khosrov Harutyunyan disagreed, “Today, individual states do not compete, as the mega-economies compete.The RA, unfortunately, had no other choice. Imagine, if we come out from the EEC, it does not mean that the next day the EU is going to hug us. ”
Khosrov Harutyunyan believes that Armenia’s EEU membership is justified and it does not prevent the cooperation with the EU and other organizations.
“You and your president could ratify Association Agreement with the EU, but you refused within a night, so don’t teach us”, said Aram Sargsyan.
