“Armenian-Iranian relations are developing despite the changes in the political elite of Iran”, Iranologist Artyom Tonoyan told Aravot.am when referring to the Iranian presidential elections.
Let us remind you that Hassan Rouhani was re-elected as a president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“During last four years, the achievements of Armenian-Iranian relations are obvious, especially the cancellation of visa regime, the increase of the numbers of Iranian tourists. In this regard, the re-election of Rouhani is a positive fact,” noted the expert.
Referring to the regional security, Artyom Tonoyan noticed that Iran is considered to be a stabilizing factor in the Syrian conflict: “In case of the re-election of Rouhani this factor will be maintained. Secure Syria is important for Iran. Iran wants secure region, which is in favor of Armenia.”
