The “ILur.am” editor Kristine Khanumyan thinks that the Prosecution did not have any alternative other than dropping criminal charges against her. Note that by the decision of the Prosecutor of the Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts Prosecutor’s Office, the criminal case filed against Director of “Start-Media” LTD and editor of iLur.am online, Christine Khanumyan, by the RA Criminal Code, Article 353, part 2 (intentional failure to fulfil the judicial Act) was dismissed.
“They had no alternative because the entire legal story was perfectly absurd, they would get a bigger headache if they had taken this case to the end,” said the editor of iLur.am.
According to her, there was no legal basis for furthering this case. “This was a pressure both on the media, and why not, on the freedom of expression. Because we are a part of this whole media landscape, if they put pressure on us today, tomorrow, they will do it on you and others.” Note that Christine Khanumyan was accused of deliberately not identifying the source of the information published in iLur.am, or better to say, for intentional failure to execute the judicial act on identifying the source.
