Arshak Sadoyan’s “National Democrats’ Alliance” /NDA/ and Manouk Gasparian’s “Democratic Way” /DW/ parties will operate together. Other politicians will also join them.
Arshak Sadoyan has alluded before New Year holidays that NDA and DW alliance will be optimal: “I think my and Manouk’s union would be effective enough, especially none of us suffers from the ambition of being the first and is ready to be the second in the list. It may be rather vital alliance, taking into consideration both Manouk Gasparian’s and my popularity.”
It became clear that the holiday was effective, and as Manouk Gasparian informed us: “We have almost come to agreement with Arshak”. But he hasn’t only come to agreement with Arshak. In DWP leader’s opinion: “There are some politicians who have established a reputation among the population and are highly respected, consult with them for not forming an alliance but for being represented by a list of a party. The most active party will be selected. In case of forming an alliance, we must bring 25000 additional votes to overcome 5%. We consider it very dangerous. Manouk Gasparian didn’t want to elucidate who were those politicians with whom they were consulting. “They are 2-3 persons. If you look for them, you’ll find them, I simply don’t want to publish their names, as we may not succeed. All authority parties want to come to the parliament by money, we want to get more votes with the help of popular persons. It seems to me if we succeed in that alliance /Manouk Gasparian, Arshak Sadoyan + 3 unknown persons/ we’ll get 15% of votes in the parliament. But if I and Arshak remain, we’ll get5 7-8% of votes.”
We tried to get additional information during our conversation with Arshak Sadoyan but he only said the following: “There have been meetings and discussions before New Year. The point is that we should form a broad front of struggle, in favor of free and fair elections. We have consulted but haven’t made any decision yet.”
