John Evans, who finished his diplomatic mission in Armenia as the U.S. Ambassador, has issued a statement that recognition of Armenian Genocide by him wasn’t a mistake. “Time comes when we must call a spade a spade”, – Evans has said in the interview to “Los Angeles Times” newspaper. In former Ambassador’s words “it was already obvious” in July 2005 that he would be dismissed. Evans left Armenia in September and officially left the U.S. State Department last month. “I will call it Armenian Genocide today”, – Evans said in February 2005.
