COLOR REVOLUTION IS IMPOSSIBLE IN ARMENIA

“Gallup” famous organization has come to this conclusion with the help of polling, prepared, systemized and analyzed by it.
The sociological association of Armenia has held a poll from November 10-19, 2006. 1200 citizens of Armenia have participated in it. The U.S. Agency for International Development has sponsored the survey. And “Gallup” is one of the world centers for Gallup pall, the methodology of which excludes more than 3% of mistakes.

WRONG WAY
The poll about current moods in Armenia has showed that 58% of the Armenian citizens thinks that the events develop in wrong way, and only 32% has said that the country develops in right way. 34% of our population sees the improvement of the country’s economy, and 23% thinks that the economic situation is being worsened. 27% of participants has said that the their families’ financial situation has worsened, and only 24% has insisted on just the opposite. The major part of Armenian citizens thinks that the country needs in long time to improve the situation in the country.
FAIR ELECTIONS AREN’T PRIOR
According to poll results, 58 percent of Armenian citizens aren’t satisfied with development of democracy, and 39% is satisfied. In answer to the question what the authorities must do first of all to get the assistance of the majority of population, the major part has said: to provide employment, rise pensions and wages, develop the economy. Only after all these fair elections should be held. The greatest mistakes, omissions and failures of our authorities in the last year were inadequate attention towards people, insufficient struggle against corruption, and the sale of important structures.

SOCIAL PROBLEMS ARE PRIOR
The majority of our population considers unemployment, social-economic situation and NK conflict as the main problems of Armenia. The answers to NK fate are interesting enough.
The majority considers Karabakh as the part of Armenia or an Armenian state, and nobody considers it as the part of Azerbaijan. And they think they can reach it with the help of peaceful negotiations.
SECONDARY PROJECTS
In answer to the question what will be important for the voters when they vote in favor of a party, the majority has mentioned the leader. They aren’t ready to vote in favor of women; besides, our citizens are ready to vote in favor of experienced politicians than younger representatives of policy. The majority of citizens are going to participate in the coming parliamentary elections. The majority, 69 percent is sure that those elections won’t be held free and fair. And 61% is sure that the authorities of Armenia don’t carry out enough activities to prevent irregularities in the elections.
TYPES OF COMPLAINT
45 percent is for gathering signatures under letters and statements but 51 percent is against it. 65 percent is against boycott, and only 33% is for it. The majority, 75%, is for licensed meetings. In general, our citizens are for such types of struggles, which aren’t full of dangerous consequences.
In answer to the question whether the citizens of Armenia are afraid of expressing their political views openly, the majority has given positive answer. And the majority considers impossible colored revolution in Armenia.
