NA AGENDA EXPIRES

February 28,2007 00:00

The parliament finished its works about 40 minutes earlier on February 26. And on February 27, the NA adopted about two dozens of questions discussed yesterday. They discussed some more drafts and had to break the work for 30 minutes, till Tigran Sargsyan, the president of the Central Bank, the main reporter of the draft of law “About insurance and insurance activities” arrived. In NA chairman Tigran Torosyan’s opinion “Few issues have remained in the agenda but the reporters can’t arrive for technical reasons”. He didn’t explain which were those reasons. We may predict that if the NA holds a sitting today it will be for Tigran Sargsyan as he considers very important the adoption of law “About insurance”.

Meanwhile, there are some issues in the agenda, which haven’t been discussed yet. ARF initiative “About national anthem” draft or the government’s initiative “About parties” new law draft are among them. But the most interesting are the following issues: “The report on the 2005 year activities of the Council of the Public TV and Radio Company”, NA vice chairman’s activities and the question of parliamentarians who have been absent in the half of the sittings. In answer to our question whether the above mentioned issued would be discussed, NA chairman Tigran Torosian said: “ I think the most possible issue, which will be discussed is that report.” Yesterday at 17:00 the NA restarted its works and the parliamentarians made announcements. Many parliamentarians hadn’t predicted that it was possible; so only 10 persons seized that opportunity.  OEP deputy leader Mher Shahgeldyan announced that his party thought that the law about green architecture was very immediate. Arshak Sadoyan noted that though there were lists and percents in every parliamentarian’s mind; spoke about his permanent issue, about “ArmenTel”. Hovanes Margaryan accused those who carry out the orders for OEP anti-propaganda. But he didn’t give the names. Tatul Manaseryan’s announcement was very surprising as he initiated to gather signatures for removing the parliamentarians’ personal immunity. In his words “professional lawmakers constitute the overwhelming minority, and tomorrow they will remain as samples”, the reason is that non-punishment is legally formulated in our country, it is parliamentary mandate. Tatul Manaseryan also noted that a referendum must be conducted for the question of removing personal immunity on May 12, the day of parliamentary elections.

DPA leader Aram Sargsyan was the last parliamentarian who made his announcement in that session, who announced that his party would participate in the elections separately.
