The court of first instance of Armavir recognized invalid the registration of parliamentary candidates of N19 polling station
Hakob Hakobyan and Susanna Harutiunyan.
Hakob Hakobyan, the deputy chief of Arabkir community, has turned to the court demanding to recognize invalid the registration of his rivals, NA parliamentarian Hakob Hakobyan and member of the council of “Civil Insubordination” Susanna Harutiunyan in N19 polling station. The court took for granted that there were false signatures among the signatures defending those two persons\’ candidacy. Hakob Hakobyan\’s representative affirmed in the court that they had witnesses of initiative group that the signatures weren\’t false, people have indeed signed. But Hrach Sargsyan, the judge of the court of first instance of Armavir refused the petition for inviting and interrogating witnesses. The court decree isn\’t subjected to appeal. Hakob Hakobyan and Seyran Saroyan will continue the campaign. The OSCE observers were monitoring the court session. Taiyo Oke and Trudi Hughes met with NA parliamentarian Hakob Hakobyan. The latter informed that he had told the observers in detail about “illegalities made by Armavir governor and chief of police. I have told that the police headed by the governor, terrorize and beat people”. The OSCE speaker of monitoring mission has informed that they will include the lawmaker\’s incidents in their final report.
Yesterday we had a conversation with Ashot Ghahramanyan, the governor of Armavir who was participating in the inauguration ceremony of the new elected mayor of Armavir. In answer to our question whether the incidents of Armavir doesn\’t prove that the local authorities don\’t control the situation, the governor said: “I think that the local authorities as well as law enforcement services in whole control the situation. I think that several parliamentary candidates do their black deeds. They should ask the members of their initiative group why they have made falsifications.” Hakob Hakobyan accuses the governor, noting that Ashot Ghahramanyan, who is a former official of police system, tries to remove him from the campaign. “I have no connection with that problem. We must provide transparent and fair elections,- Mr. Ghahramanyan said. As for H. Hakobyan\’s words… it\’s difficult when the person isn\’t responsible for his word.” Anyway we made another quotation from Hakob Hakobyan\’s words: “Armavir is a rural region, and the organization of rural works must be the only trouble of the governor, as he doesn\’t understand anything from agriculture, he takes an active participation in the pre-electoral campaign.” In answer to this, Mr. Ghahramanyan told: “I think, the villagers will prove my efforts made for the solution of irrigation and other rural problems.”
We asked Hakob Hakobyan after the court\’s decree whether he would remain in the RPA: “Yes, I\’ll stay in the RPA till my leave. I intend to live the country; I\’ll send my family members first. I won\’t carry out any activity here. I have nothing to do here.”
He marked the court decree with irony: “Viva the fair court of the Republic of Armenia”.
In answer to our question what she is going to do after the court decree, Susanna Harutiunyan told: “I won\’t stop struggling. I impatiently wait when our Armenia country must become a democratic country from the country of power, where human rights and dignity will be respected. And every day, every time I\’ll struggle for it”.
