Three political forces are dissatisfied with H1
If the Armenian opposition was complaining about high prices of political advirtizments on TV companies before launching the campaign of parliamentary elections, now they complain about one of the items of 84A decision made by the RA Central Electoral Commission on April 8. We should remind that according to CEC decision, the order of allocating broadcast for the pre-electoral campaign to political forces and parties nominated by proportional electoral system had been established. According to that order, the political announcements must be broadcasted during 17:15 -21:00. “New Times” party leader Aram Karapetyan has lately made a written statement to Alexan Arzumanyan, the excecutive director of the RA public TV Company, noting that the “analyzes done since April 10 show that the broadcasting time of all parties is less from the estimated time. Concequently, there is an opportunity to select the beginning of announcement time since the working day is over /18:00/, which comes from the interests of employee and employer.
“New Times” Party leader Aram Karapetyan has also made a written statement to RA CEC chairman Garegin Azaryan, informing that “H1 has interpreted this item literary / it is spoken about the CEC decision’s second point/ and the announcements start at 17:15. H1’s this decision has displeased a lot of citizens and parties. While H1 has an opprtunity to replace the broadcast time, taking into consideration the maximum time of broadcast determined in the 5th point”. A. Karapetyan has proposed to use the opportunity given by the decision and determine the beginning of the announcement at 19:30 till April 23, then from April 25- May 6 at 19:00, to determine the beginning of announcements at 18:30 from May 7-8, and at 18:00 on May 9-10.”
The initiators of “Impeachment” alliance’s meeting announced on April 13 that they agreeed with NTP’s proposals. Vahagn Khachatryan, the representative of “Impeachment” in CEC said that they would also made a written statement addressed to G. Azaryan. Suren Surenyants, the council member and press speaker of “Republic” party Suren Surenyants also assured that they also agreed with that position.
