THESE ELECTIONS ARE DECISIVE

April 20,2007 00:00

Both OEP leader Arthur Baghadasryan and RPA leader Serzh Sargsyan gave this remark during their campaign meetings.

OEP under hail and rain

The leadership of “Rule of Law” Party preferred their meeting with the inhabitants of Davitashen community under open air. They were met yesterday by salt and bread. The rain started in several minutes when the meeting began. But the gathered didn’t leave; instead, they were crying “Victory”. “The weather isn’t our ally today but it is important that the whole Armenian people are our ally, – OEP leader Arthur Baghdasaryan declared. – The rain won’t despair us, we’ll try to send our message to the residents of Davitashen.” He spoke about the pre-electoral project of the party and noted, “it will bring light, hope and many other positive reforms”. The OEP leader underlined that “people want not be evidences of assassinations, illegalities and injustice which remain unpunishable. People want the law not to be powerless in front of force. And the OEP leader will struggle for having just this kind of Armenia”.

After these words it began hailing but Arthur Baghdasaryan was still talking and asked the people to participate in the elections by all means: “The sold vote is a lost vote. We shouldn’t sell our votes. We mustn’t be afraid. Obligation brings hatred.”

OEP deputy leader Heghine Bisharyan also made a speech and reminded the citizens of Davitashen: “ Each of you may make changes in your lives by your participation in the elections. Let’s struggle for the future of our children as these elections are decisive for both of us”.

Six buses were parking in front of “Hayordats Tun” in Kanaker-Zeytun community where people, in particularly children had been brought for the meeting held by RPA. Certainly, they aren’t the best auditory to listen to the propaganda. Children were making noise that’s why Serge Sargsyan started his speech by remark: “I understand that this is your home,  Armenian sons’ house, and nobody may impede you to come here. But I ask you behave yourselves as grown men.”

The noise didn’t calm down, And Serge Sargsyan was speaking that the elections was special competitions where the best projects win: “I call everyone to examine not only the pre-electoral projects of this elections but the former projects, too.” He also affirmed that the RPA will keep its pre-electoral promises and enumerated the activities they had achieved: the salaries have been raised for three times etc. “On the other hand we’re always accused that the salary doesn’t provide our elementary needs. I agree, the PM said. –On another hand I advise you that you should get rid of them who promises you wonders. He promised that he would do his best that people felt changes month-by-month, year-by-year.

“All international experts say that Armenian private great market is $100 milliard. But we can’t involve even 1% of those resources for making investments. We must try hard that our system of governance, our government are trusted by its partners as well as people. The most important way to achieve it is fair, free and normal elections. I call you everyone to be honest and not turn to slanders. I’m sure that the RPA will gain people’s solid confidence”.

Christine Pepelyan san after. “I’m not Jirinovsky to sing for you, – the PM joked. I must be engaged in more serious activities which demand less talent”.
