WORRIED AND DISAPPOINTED

The RA embassy in Great Britain replied to the interception and publishment of the OEP leader and British diplomat conversation.

The interception and publishment of the conversation between the OEP leader Arthur Baghdasaryan and GB deputy ambassador to RA Richard Hide threats to become an international scandal. Anyway, there are some intentions, especially when we take into consideration the announcement of GB Embassy in Armenia. It is mentioned there that the content of the publication is distorted. The politicians also discuss the incident. For example, People\’s Way Party leader Manuk Gasparyan marked Arthur Baghdasaryan\’s action as a “national treachery” because it isn\’t allowed to ” seek an overseer or bow and scrape in front of the representatives of foreign countries”. The PWP leader has also noticed that detection has no connection with the upcoming NA elections: “The authorities want to neutralize their contenders.”
ULP leader Gurgen Arsenyan thinks that it is a black PR and addressed against OEP. In his opinion if there hasn\’t been any court decree about the interceptions, it won\’t help the formation of our country\’s political culture”
Though there was nothing strange in the discrepant opinions of our politicians. Representative of “Heritage” party Hovsep Khurshudyan told us yesterday that their party had a negative attitude towards that incident, considering it as a rude break of citizen\’s rights, especially when there is no court decree. In that case, there is no meaning to adopt corresponding laws. “And more, we may assure that we have also been intercepted a year ago, so we turned to NSS chief Gorik Hakobyan asking to find out whether our supposition were right. But we still have no answer”.
Aram Karapetyan told us in answer to our question whether he had guarantees that he wasn\’t intercepted: “I\’m very guaranteed, as I know that I\’m recorded now too, but I don\’t see any problem. There is no doubt, this is ridiculous but I don\’t understand its meaning. If the purpose was to get information before, now it has become a habit. But when the records appear in the press and when it deals with the diplomats deputed in the RA, it strikes the country\’s rating”. A. Karapetyan also told that “the problems of Armenia are solved just in Armenia”.
As for RPA and ARF representatives, they didn\’t hurry to make their remarks. For example, ARF GB member and journalist Gegham Manukyan told: “The security of both our common citizens and country is the most actual problem of the RA all structures. By the word security I mean both the citizens\’ freedoms and security. He also added: “I don\’t know who has recorded, where that record from is, how it did happen? There are special laws for interception in Armenia”.
RPA council member Armen Ashotyan condemned the OEP leader instead: “I\’m one of those politicians who worry about Arthur Baghdasaryan\’s meetings still before this latest scandal, because those meetings weren\’t transparent, were mysterious and hidden.
