Secretary of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) faction Aram Safaryan assures that the bodyguards of the PAP leader haven\’t participated in any brawl.
– In what else PAP is going to be engaged after parliamentary elections?
– Our party has fulfilled two functions during July and August. It has reestablished regional offices in the regions of the republic (50 PAP offices), each of it has 3 members who are engaged in part activities, it has reestablished the boards of those structures, which consist of 9 members and is engaged in registration of new members. The members of our party have been registered for the second time and we\’ll declare the number of our party members soon.
– Are you going to declare that PAP has about 400 000 adherents?
– We\’ll announce about it, it will be less than it was during the elections and more realistic. We held an enlarged sitting of city soviet yesterday where our parliamentarians, ministers, head of 50 regional structures took part. We discussed two types of issues with them: the implementation of our promises which we gave during the pre-electoral period and held elections. Samvel Adamyan was elected as a deputy head of the party, Ruben Manukyan was elected as the secretary of the party. We have given such promises in pre-electoral period which we can not keep. Those promises relate to tax and social reforms, encouragement of medium enterprisers. We have launched consultations with our coalition partner, RPA. According to the coalition memorandum that we should have a permanent board with equal opportunities. RPA is ready to discuss and adopt our principle political projects.
– Who will be the PAP candidate in the presidential elections, will the party defend Serge Sargsyan\’s candidacy?
– It is written in our joint memorandum that we\’ll defend a joint presidential candidate. I can assure that we are fair to be within the framework of our responsibility. We\’ll hold a session in the end of October and will declare in that session about our joint candidate. Now it is too early to speak about it.
– What is your opinion about the ARF\’s initiative to nominate its own presidential candidate?
– We understand that we may have different approaches and it is normal, we don\’t afraid of it.
– What is the difference of your approaches?
– Legislative initiatives and political control will show it. Regarding the nomination of separate candidate, it is the ARF\’s right, it is written in the agreement, that\’s why we have signed the agreement with the ARF for a year but with RPA we signed for 5 years.
– Will the leader of your party participate in all NA sittings?
– Our party leader is engaged in party activities every day. I report the NA events twice a day. I\’m sure that Messrs. Vardanyan, Grigoryan and Kushkyan also report him the events inside the ministry.
– What is your opinion about the brawls with Mr. Tsarukyan bodyguards\’ participation?
– Regarding the brawls, Mr. Tsarukyan\’s bodyguards haven\’t participated in it. A lot of people in this country dream of being Gagik Tsarukyan\’s bodyguards. He doesn\’t have such bodyguards who participated in brawls.
