THE PARTICIPANT OF THE MASS MEETING

December 07,2007 00:00

Former political analyzer of H2 TV Company  Levon Sardaryan was dismissed for participation in Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s meeting.

Political analyst of  H2 TV Company Levon Sardaryan who has been working there since November 2000 was dismissed on October 31. He has worked in “A1+” “Aib Fe” news program before. The latter says hat he has been dismissed for the lack of discipline but he was asked to apply for dismissal just on the first working day after Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s meeting.

Speaking about the period before the meeting, Levon Sardaryan noted:  “Lack of working discipline is very relative because my two reports before it haven’t been broadcasted. One of those reports was about general situation in Georgia, foreign policy, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and was speaking about Armenia as well. RA President Press speaker Victor Soghomonyan didn’t allow those materials to be broadcasted. I was asked not to speak about that theme. Next report-elucidation was about our home policy: upcoming presidential elections, parade of presidential candidates. The reason of not broadcasting it was that the report was made by Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Now the following principle is active: which is not for us, is against us.”

In answer to the question whether his participation in the mass meeting was grounded as a reason to apply for a dismissal, our interlocutor gave a negative answer but  also confirmed that he had learned about it from other sources: “I know that they felt nervous about it”.

Levon Sardaryan told that his main problems were connected with head of staff of the RA President Armen Gevorgyan: “Two days before the residential elections in 2003 I was called to the president’s residence where I met Armen Gevorgyan and RA president’s press secretary Vahe Gabrielyan. I was asked to broadcast those scandal story connected with Armen Sargsyan about “Lizin” factory and they wanted me to elucidate. (We should remind that “Lizin” factory in Charentsavan was also included in the announcement of the U.S. department of State and which gave Iran forbidden technologies, materials of “dual meaning. Vazgen Sargsyan’s brother Armen  Sargsyan was noted as the owner of “Lizin” factory which the board of directors denied categorically.- A.I.) Armen Gevorgyan has already written the text in Russian. I asked for time till tomorrow afternoon. I wanted to find out whether what I was asked to broadcast

was true. Certainly I didn’t manage to find any document  both from tax or customs services which would confirm Armen Sargsyan’s connection with “Lizin”. I refused of  elucidating that material. We became arch enemies after that incident”.
