National Self-Determination Union (AIM/ Leader Paruyr Hayrikyan describes the current political forces and assures that only he has a right to criticize.
– Speaking about those politicians who didn\’t join Levon Ter-Petrosyan to have a unified oppositionist candidate, PPA Stepan Demirchyan said during the mass meeting held on Saturday that it would be better for those politicians to declare that they support Serge Sargsyan.
– I don\’t understand their expectations, that the rest of politicians should join them without any negotiations sand conversations; I don\’t understand it, because a unified candidate is selected with the help of negotiations, during round table discussions, which I had organized.
– Former Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanyan said in his speech during the mass meeting held on December 8, that the policy is a type of business for several party leaders, who prevent the consolidation of the opposition. He also gave Artashes Geghamyan\’s and Vazgen Manukyan\’s names.
– I don\’t exclude it, even the nomination of a candidate serves for material purposes, which is far from being business, because business is a consistent, purposeful work but presidential nomination is a temporary period. I have an idea about several parties and politicians who use that temporary period to earn money. If a party or a politician knows that it or he has at least 5 or 10 % of votes but nominates his candidacy, we should think that the nominee is mentally sick or has sold his votes or has his personal accounts. I don\’t want to give names but Alik Arzumanyan is right. If the ANM was coming back to the active policy it should come during the parliamentary elections. If Levon Ter-Petrosyan\’s supporters, who participating in the meetings held by me, continued participating, let\’s admit that several politicians might come to a conclusion and join Levon Ter-Petrosyan. We have refused neither his candidacy nor the candidacy of anybody else. They came refusing and criticizing but only I have a right to criticize.
– Do you keep thinking that we shouldn\’t give a vote to Ter-Petrosyan?
– I keep thinking that the politician should follow the political process irrespective his position that time. ANM didn\’t participate in the parliamentary elections showing that it was out of the main political process. Levon Ter-Petrosyan should express his opinion from time to time
