Representative of \”Alternative\” Nikol Pashinyan says

The new formed “Legitimate President- 2008” movement held its first public sitting in Armenia Marriott Hotel yesterday. The representatives of Armenian National Movement, (HHSh), “Republic” Parties, and members of “Alternative “movement,” New Times Party leader Aram Karapetyan and “Heritage” Party representatives were participating in the first sitting. The sitting passed in the atmosphere of mutual curtsies. All participants were sharing the standpoints of their partners.
Leader of “New Times” Party Aram Karapetyan noted yesterday that a totalitarian system has been established in Armenia, which is possible to change only in revolutionary way. In his opinion the authorities will draw figures again for the presidential candidates during the first stage of elections. For instance, 40% of votes will go to one of the candidate, 10% to another one in the first stage, 685 and 32% will be drown during the second stage, and Serge Sargsyan will declare himself as the President of Armenia. So in his opinion, the only way to get rid of the authorities is to hold a revolution by people. “The next day of the elections, February 20, should be the most important moment when the people will constrain their will to the authorities,”- Mr. Karapetyan said and called all political forces to act together.
Representative of “Alternative” Nikol Pashinyan didn\’t agree with it, so he made the following proposal: “The problem should be solved before February 19”. And before it Serge Sargsyan\’s and Levon Ter-Petrosyan\’s supporters should be clearly separated. “When the results of the elections are published, the lack of consolidation becomes the reason of its defeat. Contrary to our attitudes towards every candidate we should clearly make our selection between those two poles. All efforts in the formation of the third pole are false and imitative. The selection is obvious; each conversation about the third pole serves for the authority because it needs in a background to make frauds. He also threatened that those who won\’t back Levon Ter-Petrosyan and the people\’s movement, “we will unveil them and prove that they serve for Serge Sargsyan\’s victory.”
“Our purpose is to enforce people\’s factor. The people\’s movement and the people will be decisive”,- ANM administration member Aram Manukyan says. He also said that if people work with the will to win Serge Sargsyan will not be able to oppose to them.
