NA Chairman Tigran Torsoyan circulated yesterday a statement on “Nagorno Karabagh conflict settlement” which the parliament will discuss this Thursday.
There are proposals addressed to the RA President and Government. Those proposals are as follows:
“- to activate and enlarge design and implementation of efforts and possibilities for international structure involvement in NK conflict settlement.”
“- to make the Armenian policy of the NK conflict settlement more initiative”
“- to formulate those legal grounds within the framework of the international law which will allow the Republic of Armenia to guarantee the NK security and defense in case of Azerbaijan’s military aggression or other violence”.
We gave several questions to NA Chairman Tigran Torosyan regarding that statement.
– What did you make you make such an “anxious” statement?
– There is no need for anxiety; I simply think that we should reply to the situation adequately. That’s all, and I didn’t want this statement to be considered as an expression of anxiety. It is simply an adequate reply to the situation which exists.
– The statement is addressed to the RA President and Government, to Serge Sargsyan, does this mean that the process which Robert Kocharyan carries out was not active enough, and now the future president asks the president to be more active and initiative?
– If you read that passage carefully, you will understand that it doesn’t refer to the president
– I mean the following passage: “the NA proposes the RA President and Government”.
– I remember it very well; I have written it myself, it is addressed to the President and Government of Armenia because that problem is under the president’s and government’s control. Regarding the activation, first of all we shouldn’t forget that each period demands corresponding response. We should work every day for the people to have a right point of view.
