Yesterday the Armenian National Congress for the first time since 2008 organized a rally at the Freedom square, which has been closed for the opposition rallies for three years for different reasons. This happened under the pressure of the opposition and thousands of its supporters, the citizens of the RA. Though, yesterday the police forces once again blocked all the entrances to the Freedom square with a few lines, however the police had to retreat and after the negotiations between the representative of the Armenian National Congress office Levon Zurabyan from one side and the Deputy Chief of Police Alexander Afyan and Chief of Police of the city of Yerevan Nerses Nazaryan from the other side, the police officers decided to voluntarily let the rally participants enter the Freedom square. Excited with that first victory, the very first thing the opposition and the citizens, who supported them, did was dancing and singing, as they were doing during the rallies after the 2008 elections. The opposition leaders were once again dancing on the stage.
