Yesterday a set of human rights, journalistic and other NGOs turned to the president of the RA Serzh Sargsyan regarding the Heritage party leader Raffi Hovanissian being on a hunger strike in the Freedom square, particularly saying, “On the night of March 23 Hovannisian spent a night in the almost unstoppable rain and under a medium size umbrella, and the heavy rain just flooded all over his bench, which doubles the danger to his health, becoming a danger to his life, if not prevented quickly.” They demanded “to fulfill the state objective of putting up a tent for a citizen on a hunger strike. If this demand is not carried out we leave its fulfillment to ourselves.” It should be mentioned that the day before the Heritage MPs Larissa Alaverdyan, Stepan Safaryan and Anahit Bakhshyan had met the Chief of Police of the RA Alik Sargsyan. The latter said that putting up a tent was ruled out.
