A police officer tried to rob a bank

Yesterday, at around 12.30pm captain Artur Hakobyan, the head of the security department of Nor Nork police, with a government-issue “Makarov” pistol, disguised with a mask, entered a “Converse bank” district branch situated on Gai Avenue, in Nor Nork, and stole a big sum of money, 1 million 724 thousand AMD, 6695 USD, 385 Euros, 37800 RR. Pointing the gun at the bank officer, he handed a polyethylene bag to her to fill them with money. When leaving the bank, Artur Hakobyan’s subordinate told him to stop, but Artur tried to point his gun at the subordinate. In self-defense the man on duty shot and neutralized Artur Hakobyan, after which he informed the RA police about what happened. A. Hakobyan was transferred with injuries to the resuscitation department of “St. Grigor Lusavorich” medical center. According to “Aravot’s” info, A. Hakobyan introduced himself to his neighborhood as Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan’s brother-in-law.
