The ANC leaders have hidden behind kids

\"\"Says member of the initiative group of “Sardarapat” movement Tigran Khzmalyan

– After the response of the ANC seven youngsters to the statement made by “Sardarapat” movement, one of the arguments of the discussions on social networks and in press was that after insulting the ANC, you had to be ready to hear an insult in return – you called them inarticulate fanatics, people showing a servile and cowardice attitude, the ANC youngsters gave “servile and cowardice” assessment in return. What do you think about this counterargument?
– We did not participate in the debates consciously and based on the overall decision, since we would not have said anything new, we continue to think what we said in our statement. We offered our support to those youngsters and those assessments that aroused so much sensation and fuss refer not to the youngsters, but to the ANC leaders. The latter, according to our assessment, used that statement in return as a shield, hiding behind the kids. Probably they are actually the very people who made that statement and not the youngsters.
– However, that very statement reads that “you are trying to drive a wedge between the young wing of the Congress and its leadership”.
– That is their assessment. We are ready to answer for every word that was written in our statement. We continue to assess the political force having “dialogue”, but in reality contracting in the same way, a political force that received a new proof by the arrest of those youngsters, with whom it had sat down to contract.
– How will you comment on the claim in the statement that at any tense moment your friends “are not seen at the scene, in the offices of chiefs of police, in front of court buildings and not in the situations when there is a slim possibility of being treated violently. However, they are consistent in one thing; to stab the Congress in the back always at the tensest political moments whether on the eve of rallies or during this kind of incidents”.
– It is not true, to put it mildly. One needs only to remember our actions on the days of ill-fated Armenian-Turkish protocols and many other cases, starting with the nights of Raffi Hovhannisyan’s hunger strike and finishing with all those cases, when the interests of the people were put into danger. We are where there is resistance and attempt to overthrow the dictatorship. It is their problem if they do not notice us. Maybe the people who do not see others in the squares and what goes on in the political field for months have some problems with eyes.
– At the end I would like to ask you to refer to the accusations about “Sardarapat” that it is not random that the people gathered around the movement do not cross the limits of ten men and the most importantly that one should not overuse the revolutionary rhetoric, if he does not conduct real revolution.
– Although I have not followed all the debates on the social network, but it is obvious that the number of participants of those surely exceeds ten. My friends say that there were a lot of people who interfered in that debate and gave their assessments as a response to curses or, as you called, accusations. I think one only needs to count how many people intervened to protect Zhirayr Sefilyan (though Zhirayr has no need for protection); even their number reaches one hundred. Therefore, it is the best answer to the question whether we are ten people or more. One will see how many we are when the question will be put forward in the squares that has been put forward in Egypt and was put forward in Tripoli yesterday.

P.S. The ANC youngsters have accepted Zhirayr Sefilyan’s offer to speak in a civilized manner. ANC activist Sargis Gevorgyan said to tert.am yesterday, “I can say on behalf of my friends the following that everything is simple and clear for us; we have expressed our opinion in the statement made and have nothing to add. However, if Mr. Sefilyan has something to say, we are ready to meet him at any time with pleasure. We invite him to visit the central office of the Armenian National Congress and to discuss any issue that concerns him, particularly taking into account that Mr. Sefilyan is the coordinator of the “Union of Armenian Volunteers” political initiative”, which is part of the Congress.”
