One brother was arrested, the other resigned

According to the message spread by the Special Investigation Agency of the Republic of Armenia, on August 20 Chief of Traffic Police of the Republic of Armenia, police colonel Margar Ohanyan was arrested on the claims of office abuse and grand larceny. Let us remind that Chief of the Republic of Armenia Police Alik Sargsyan, answering journalists’ questions on August 25 whether the cases of misappropriation of gas in large amounts and giving licenses in return for a bribe will lead to Margar Ohanyan’s resignation, said, “The issue of Margar Ohanyan’s future holding of the office has not been raised by me yet, because we have to prove whether he was aware of all this or not. If the investigation shows that he was aware and there are testimonies testifying that he also used this gas, he had his share, Margar Mnatsakanich will be held responsible as other citizens.”
Let us also mention that yesterday Chief of Nor Nork Police Mushegh Ohanyan who is Margar Ohanyan’s brother handed in his resignation to the Chief of the Republic of Armenia Police.
