The reason for murders is officers’ impunity

A group on Facebook called “The Real Army” has initiated a protest in front of the Armenian President’s residence; Heritage MP Zaruhi Postanjyan also participated in it. She expressed confidence that the reason for repeated murders in the army was the impunity existing in the army, “It’s a pity, but if the previous cases had been given a political assessment, today we wouldn’t have been in such state. On the contrary, they don’t try to assess the murders with the appropriate articles of the law, but change and distort facts, furthermore defend officers as much as they can and they remain unpunished. They are unpunished, because corruption rages in the same army. Officers, commanding officers are the means of that corruption. However, the army is involved in different political activities, and it also testifies to the effect that they get that impunity as an advantage. When it comes to punishing them, they say, have you forgotten that we participated in your political events, elections and the developments afterwards. It happened both in 2003 and in 2008.”
