“Aravot” referred to the garbage cans in front of famous Armenian writer, dramatist Derenik Demirchian Home Museum walls, which whether full or empty are unpleasant for the visitors of the museum. Yesterday we filmed the same picture near John Kirakosyan School no. 20. The garbage cans only a few meters away from the school entrance are chock-full and there were stray dogs wandering around those, seeking for food – those dogs are dangerous first and foremost for the children coming to school. The school principal has raised that issue lots of times applying to the authorities, but the issue hasn’t been solved so far – the garbage cans remain on the same spot, “under the school’s nose”. Meanwhile, according to the “Hygienic Requirements for the Sanitary Control of Residential Houses” of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia, the garbage cans must be placed at an allowed distance from the public buildings or in more distant places.
