Today, on November 21, a running over took place in Yerevan. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reporting from the scene, at around 7 am, 34-year-old Artur Martirosyan, the driver of a “VAZ 21115” with 24 OL 386 license plate ran over a pedestrian who died on the spot.
The pedestrian was Repsik Avetisyan who was crossing the street in an unauthorized place. The driver did not escape from the scene. The traffic police officers of Yerevan arrived at the scene led by Arsen Mardoyan, the chief of traffic police of Yerevan. The investigation on the crime scene is conducted under the supervision of Artash Vanyan, a detective of the traffic crime investigation unit of the Yerevan investigation department of the police main investigation department. The officers of Kanaker-Zeytun unit of the police transferred the driver to the hospital, in order to have him forensically examined to find out whether he was drunk or not. The car was taken to the penalty area of the Yerevan traffic police at the order of the detective.
