The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) should have made them give birth to girls, where is it then?

December 06,2011 16:32

ARF promised, if it is elected to the National Assembly, to reform “the sex and age structure of the population”, i.e. to do so as boys and girls are born in equal numbers or old and young people are balanced among the population. That was one of the promises made by ARF before the election. The party appeared in the National Assembly, but the issue of equality between boys and girls has not been solved, furthermore, the issue has deepened in recent years. According to the standard, there should be 100 girls for 105 boys, whereas inArmenia, there is a 10% deviation – there are 100 girls for 115 boys. As for the ageing, according to the UN data, 14.6% of our population is older than 60 years old, whereas according to the international classification, the population of a country is perceived as ageing, if that number is larger than 12%. The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) also promised to dramatically improve the unfavorable demographic situation. PAP assured that it will increase the birth rate, will decrease the death rate, however none of those was implemented – the decrease of birth rate continues and they do not restrain the death rate either. The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), the Rule of Law Party (RLP) and the Heritage Party also promised to increase the birth rate.
